The page is missing from Google: diagnose indexing before publishing more

“This page has been live for two weeks. Why is it not on Google?” The usual response is another indexing request. That does not repair a cause; it simply presents the same page to the same system again.

Open the case from the beginning: was the URL discovered, is it internally linked, does it return 200, where does its canonical point, and is noindex present? The order matters because an undiscovered page is not the same problem as an unconvincing one.

Follow the path from discovery to selection

Confirm that internal links or a sitemap expose the URL. Check the HTTP response, robots.txt, meta robots and access to critical resources. A genuine 200 page is necessary, but not sufficient.

Inspect canonical intent next. Does the page identify itself or another URL as primary? Parameter variants, languages and pagination need explicit relationships.

Treat Search Console statuses as clues

Labels such as Crawled—currently not indexed are clues, not final diagnoses. Inspect samples and separate low-value duplicates from important commercial pages.

Faceted navigation can create thousands of weak URLs in a shop. Category architecture and internal linking often matter more than repeatedly pressing request indexing.

Judge quality against search intent

A page that rearranges the same information found on ten sibling pages has no independent reason to be selected. Real experience, a direct answer, unique evidence and a coherent topic cluster give it identity.

Log changes and allow feedback time. Indexing is neither instant nor guaranteed; repeated requests do not replace root-cause work.
